Original name : Pistola Mitriaglice FNAB 43 German name : 9 mm MP(i) (the gun was not assigned a common number) Calibre : 9 mm (9 mm Parabelkami cartridge) Magazine : 20 or 40 rounds in a box magazine Length : 790 mm with upright rest, 526 mm with folded rest Barrel length : 198 mm Drilling : 6 right-handed grooves Weight : 3.2 kg Rate of fire : 373 m/s Rate of fire : 400 rounds/min Manufacturer : Fabbrica Nazionale d'Armi in Brescia This is a little known weapon developed during the war and produced in 1943-44, production apparently yielded less than 7,000 pieces, which were taken over by the Germans and partly also used by RSI units in northern Italy. During the war it is strange that unlike other countries that preferred to produce cheap and simple weapons this submachine gun was quite difficult to produce and required complex and precise machining, so it is definitely not a cheap weapon. The weapon fires from a locked breech, which is two-piece and is unlocked by rotating a component connecting the two parts. Another peculiarity is the muzzle brake and compensator, also the folding magazine well is a rather unusual solution, which was intended to make the gun as small as possible when carrying and yet as fast as possible ready to fire. The folding shoulder rest consists of a single steel rod which rotates around the mount on the right side of the gun and when folded is next to the barrel.
