The fortress, also called Feste Kaiser Wilhelm II, is a German fortress from a series of fortifications in pre-war (pre-first-war, to be precise) Alsace.


A very nice fortress, with a number of interesting features (at least the bell structure with guns on rails that allowed movement from firing position), one first walks through the underground parts of the fortress, then comes to the surface at the place where the artillery batteries were located, then descends again to the parking lot. The area around the fort is still a military area, so you can't move outside the marked areas!
