Strength cap Nonstal was built to defend the road leading through the valley of Val di Non from his administrative center of Cles, towards Mezzolombardo and Trient. Formed only a large stone fort Straßensperre Rocchetta, which přehrazoval the valley at the narrowest point, and allowed to close the road with two iron gates.

In the period 1. world war ii represented a closure Nonstal the second line of defense for the fortress closure Tonale, for your position in the rear, however, was occupied only guard unit. After the war was fort Roccheta destroyed by the explosion of stockpiled munitions and its remnants were removed.
