The Cross of the "Border Guard"

The Border Guard units were small but very efficient. In the war period 1939-1945 the members of these units were indispensable, especially for their knowledge of the terrain, which the Finnish soldiers were able to use so masterfully.

Description of the cross:

Averse:
The cross has very slightly flared arms that are patinated in the color of steel. In the center of the cross is the head of a bear with a sword and a juniper branch.

Reverses:
The back is plain with a description stamped in small letters on the lower arm of the cross:Sporrong (name of the maker?). However, there are crosses without the manufacturer's logo with the year 1939-1945.

The size of the cross is 41 x 41 mm. The cross is patinated in black or steel black, the head of the bear is made of shiny bronze.

The stiffness of the cross is flowing with lateral red stripes.
