- Armored Ambulance Vehicle (бронированная медицинская машина)
This armored ambulance-based armored personnel carrier BTR-80 is manufactured at the Arzamask Engineering Plant (Арзамасский машиностроительный завод) under the designation GAZ-59039 and is designed to transport the wounded from the battlefield and provide them with the first medical, resp. The first medical aid is given to the wounded. For this purpose, the vehicle is equipped, in addition to a space for inserting stretchers, with seats for six seated wounded with the possibility of strapping them in. The drinking water supply is carried in a 40 litre tank. A separate water tank is connected to a lever tap such as is used in medical establishments. A built-in safe is used to store opiates.
The transporter is unarmed. It is powered by a KAMAZ-7403 (КАМААЗ-7403) diesel engine with 260 hp, with which it reaches a road speed of 80 km/h, with a maximum range, i.e. the range when the fuel tanks are full, of 600-800 km. The vehicle is floating and reaches a speed of 9 km/h on water.

It is not known to me whether the vehicle has already been accepted into the armament of the Army of the Russian Federation. I have only found out that it was entered into a tender issued by the Ministry of Defence in 2005, with a delivery of 1,500 units.
