The GM moored mine (ГМ) is a deep-sea mine designed against ships and submarines. It can be equipped with a non-contact fuse from the Lira (Лира), Krab (Краб) mines, or an aerial electro-contact fuse from the AGSB (АГСБ) mine, which responds to an electric field in the vicinity of the vessel (primarily intended against submarines). The mine was developed by the Design Bureau of the Kuybyshev Machine-Building Plant using elements from KB and AG mines in 1956, and has been in service since 1957. In 1960-61 it was upgraded to the UGM (УГМ) mine by the same design bureau.
