Mjölner: delivery from the Czech and Slovak Republics


Companies from the Czech and Slovak Republics also participated in the production of Grkpbv 90 self-propelled mortars for the needs of the Swedish ground forces. In May 2017, BAE Systems Hägglunds signed a contract with the Czech company Ray Service for the development and supply of cable systems. At the end of the same year, a contract was concluded with Laser Centrum for the supply of mechanical components. These contacts broadened the scope of the industrial cooperation program implemented by BAE Systems in the Czech Republic with the aim of convincing the Czech state in its intention to replace obsolete vehicles BVP-2 with Swedish infantry fighting vehicles CV90.


A much more important role was played by the Slovak company KONŠTRUKTA - Defense, with which BAE Systems Hägglunds signed a contract in September 2017 for the production of 84 120 mm mortar barrels, the construction of which was created by modifying mainly Czechoslovak mortar vz. 82 PRAM-L. Their deliveries were to take place from December 2017 to July 2020 according to the planned schedule (in 2019, this supply plan had to be adjusted).
