Task UCoFI is the coordination of the activities of the intervention units of the police and gendarmerie, FIPN (RAID, GIPN and the BRI), GIGN, GPM, PI2G and negotiators. At the head of the unit cost general of police, his deputy is a police divisional commissioner. The unit is administratively affiliated to the General directorate of the state police, but functionally subordinate to both the General directorate of the national gendarmerie, the General directorate of the state police. The unit is not a superior authority to the individual to the intervention units. Its role consists only in the area of coordination and simplification of cooperation between them, as individual units have theoretically defined territorial scope, but each of them at the same time excels in a particular specialty. The aim is therefore, to in every area of one unit functioned as the guiding element and the other as the supporting elements.
