Khalifa-1
The Khalifa-1 is a 122mm mobile howitzer manufactured by the Sudanese state-owned Military Industry Corporation (MIC). A modified KaMAZ-43118 truck is used as the chassis, on which a modified 122mm howitzer D-30 is integrated (according to some sources, this is a modification of the Bulgarian-made 2A31 howitzer used in the 2S1 self-propelled howitzer, which was licensed by a Bulgarian company to be produced in Sudan). The weapon includes an artillery fire control system designated Karary IGZ01.
In addition to the weapon itself, the firing complex includes an observation post and a command post. The observation post is equipped with a goniometer and a laser rangefinder, a ruggedised laptop computer, a GPS system and telecommunications equipment. The command post shall be equipped with telecommunications equipment, a display, a ruggedised portable computer, a GPS system.
