真鶴 / Manazuru / Buzzard
试作输送滑空机 / - / military cargo glider

History:
The development of this cargo glider has been underway since 1942. Production began in 1943 but was not completed until 1944. By this time, however, the Japanese Army Air Force's need for a large cargo glider had passed, Japan had gone on the defensive and no longer had the strength for airborne operations. The Mitsubishi Ki-21-II was originally intended to be used as a towing aircraft, but it did not have enough power for such a large glider, so it was planned to tow behind Nakajima Ki-49-II or behind a modern Mitsubishi Ki-67. The latter aircraft eventually made its first flight on 15.08.1944. Later the Ku-7 was motorized, designated Ku-7-II, this designation was changed to Kokusai Ki-105Otori, but it was already a different aircraft altogether.
