KVD - complex for fast establishment of temporary communications
The Russian Zavod dorožnoj tjechniki "Rjegion 45" was commissioned to develop an auxiliary engineering tool, which was to temporarily strengthen the banks or field roads and allow easier movement of wheeled and crawler equipment. Leccos suggests that the designers of the company were inspired by the British experience of DSV and developed a similar transporter and paver paver.
In contrast to the British model, aluminum was used to make the caterpillar track of the road. During storage and transport, the belt is wound on a spool. The selected wheeled vehicle is equipped with a "U" -shaped carrier. Both of its arms are provided with sleeves with bearings in which the coil shaft is mounted. An actuator is located on one of the arms, which probably serves to turn the spool into the working position and probably also to the controlled laying of the road track so that it does not unwind spontaneously during handling. In the marching position, both the arms of the carrier and the spool shaft are set to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle.
