In January 1945 during the soviet Viselsko-oder operation was the LIONS. panzer corps is 17. infantry division and 214. infantry division surrounded in the area of the city Radom and overshadowed by south direction. During the retreat of the fighting was virtually destroyed, the remaining members have been captured by the Red army. Corps commander general Johannes Block fell on 26.1.1945 during the retreat of the battle at the Remember.
