Tato hodnost byla vyhrazena pro zástupce vrchního velitele. Generálporučík stál nad všemi standardními hodnostmi. Na druhou stranu měl ovšem omezenější pravomoci než generalissimus. V pramenech je uváděn též jako Obrist-Feld-General-Lieutenant.
