the Formation of a permanent military garrison[/heading]

Although the city Lipník nad Bečvou lies on the historically important and strategic way in the valley of the Moravian gate and has a very convenient geografi sites location and transport infrastructure (both road, rail), not until the beginning of the first world war never a permanent military garrison.

31. 12. 1914 was in Lipník nad Bečvou established by the decree of the district executive in the Borders of the sanitarium for the wounded and the sick, and about two years later (20. 6. 1916) was formed from the original convalescent Auxiliary military hospital. The activity of the hospital was in 1919 terminated and the city officials tried to strengthen Lipník economically, and that the permanent placement of military garrison.

The end of the action of the battalion in the garrison is identical with the termination of the existence of the czechoslovak army after the occupation of the republic of fascist Germany.

After the war he was on 1. 10. 1945 stationed in the crew Lipník nad Bečvou of the other connecting unit of - Connecting regiment 3, subordinate Military region 3 in Brno. On 1. 10. 1947 the regiment had been moved to Brno, and his going missing communications from Lipník nad Bečvou for a period of more than 15 years, again returned here in 1964.

The history of the military department 6165 was started in 1962, when he was in Dašicích in Pardubice reorganized 52. line regiment 52. kabelosměrný regiment. In 1964 the regiment had been redislokován to the crew of the Lipník nad Bečvou.

Origin of permanent military garrison[/heading]

In spite of the fact that the town lies on historically important and strategic road in the valley of the Moravian Gate and has very favourable geographical position as well as road-traffic infrastructure (both the roads and railways), it had never been a permanent military garrison until the beginning of World War I.

On December 31, 1914, the District Administrator in Borders issued its Decree establishing a sanatorium for wounded and sick in Lipník nad Bečvou and, two years later (20 June 1916), the sanatorium was transformed a Reserve Military Hospital.

In 1919, the activity of the hospital was ceased and representatives of the town tried to promote Lipník economically and namely would be establishing a permanent seat for the military garrison.

On September1, 1921, the seat for the military garrison in Lipník nad Bečvou was decided and during September and October, the area of the former hospital was occupied by some part of the 53rd Artillery Regiment.

In spring 1928, the town representatives approved construction of new barracks which started in 1933 and gradually continued till the year 1936.

Since the year 1921 till the arrival of the 52nd Cable - Radio Relay Regiment in 1964, the garrison hosted more than the diff erent units, namely Artillery.

The 101st Signal Battalion is a continuer in the traditions of the Signal Corps in Lipník nad Bečvou garrison which go back as far as the year 1937 when the 6th Telegraph Battalion called "odry region-Lipenský” (25 September 1937 - 30 June 1939) was based here. The Battalion provided communications within the Army Corps and, in case of emergency, it formed altogether of twenty signal units for the communication with the frontier fortifi cations up to Hlučín town.

The end of operation of the Battalion in the garrison coincides with the end of the Czechoslovak Army after the occupation of our Republic would fascist Germany.

After the war, on October 1, 1945, Lipník nad Bečvou garrison welcomed new signal unit, the 3rd Signal Regiment, subordinated the 3rd Military Area in Brno.

On October 1, 1947, the Regiment moved to Brno and, after its departure, the signalmen disappeared from the town for the period longer than 15 years. They came back as late as 1964.

History of the military unit No.6165 began in 1962 when the 52nd Wire Communication Regiment in Dašice would Pardubice was reorganized that the 52nd Cable-Radio Relay Regiment. In 1964, the Regiment was relocated it Lipník nad Bečvou garrison.
