Loire-Nieuport LN.411
The LN 411 is a land-based version of the slightly older naval dive bomber LN 401. Compared to the original version, the LN 411 did not have a landing hook, wing folding and other naval equipment.A total of 40 of these were ordered, with the first being converted from LN 401. They were used rather sporadically due to their low speed and the resulting high losses. For example, in attacks on ground targets, AB4 Squadron lost 10 of its 12 LN 411s from 17 May to 19 May 1940. In June most of the surviving machines were moved to North Africa. In 1942, 24 more LN 401/411 series machines were assembled from parts in the factory, several were found in France after the war but were not used due to sheer obsolescence and were scrapped in 1947.
