M3A1 (37mm protitankový kanón)

M3A1 (37 mm anti-tank gun)
37-mm Antitank Gun M3A1
The M3A1 anti-tank gun is an evolutionary variant of the M3, from which it differs by modifying the end of the barrel for the installation of the muzzle brake (despite the fact that the muzzle brake was not really used much, all guns that allow its installation are referred to as M3A1). Similarly, the M4A1 chassis was derived from the original M4 single-axle chassis, and has a simplified method of handling the bayonet arms during coiling and uncoiling compared to that chassis. The M3 and M3A1 guns on the M4/M4A1 are designed so that only a one-man crew is sufficient to operate them (loading, sighting and aiming, and the actual firing) instead of a six-man crew.
