Mareșal
While fighting alongside their German ally, the Romanian army encountered modern Soviet armour against which they had inadequate defences. Within limited capabilities, conversions of captured Soviet T-60, French Renault R-35 and German/ex-Czechoslovak Pz.Kpfw.35 vehicles were developed.(t)(LT vz.35) into the form of makeshift tank fighters TACAM T-60, R-35/45 and TACAM R-2. Other TACAM R-1 and TACAM T-38 projects have not been implemented. These machines did not have much combat value and therefore the impetus was to develop a light, fast and modern tank fighter with powerful armament. A group of experts was formed who designed the first form of the Maresal tank fighter. The prototype bore the designation M-00. Further development brought designs for improved prototypes M-01 - M-06. There is also information circulating about the design of an anti-aircraft version based on the Maresal machine. The name Mareșal (Marshal) was given to the project in honour of the Romanian leader Ion Antonescu.

Work on the tank fighter led to the construction of a total of 7(?) prototypes designated as :

Mareșal M-00

Mareșal M-01

Mareșal M-02

Mareșal M-03
Mareșal M-04

Mareșal M-05
