The military training area Lest was transferred to the subordination of the Army of the Slovak Republic on 1.1.1993. Until 30.06.2008 it existed as an independent unit, initially as a part of the Ground Forces, later as a part of the Training and Support Forces. Another VVP - Kamenica na Cirochou and Turecký vrch (until 30.05.2008) became a part of VVP Lešt'. A Joint Combat and Training Centre was also built in the VVP, under the command of VeV Martin. The VVP was abolished as of 30.06.2008 when it became part of the Institute of Specialized Health and Training of the MoD Lešt' (together with SBVC), VVP Kamenica nad Cirochou and Turecký Vrch became part of VeV Martin.
