history / History
Squadron was formed on 1. April 1938 at the airport in Saint John (New Brunswick), originally as a fighter. 1. may 1939 was transformed to the "Coast Artillery Co-Operation" and after the mobilization in September was 28. October 1939 dissolved.
The next chapter in the history of the unit began 1. August 1941, when it was restored at the base of the Sydney (Nova Scotia) as a maritime patrol with the task to patrol on the east coast of Canada. In October she was reassigned to the west coast, but already 20. November was disbanded and its personnel and aircraft were supplemented by other units in the area.
The last time it was activated 27. in April 1942, again at the base of the Sydney (Nova Scotia) in the same role. Patrolled in the east coast until its dissolution 15. December 1943.
