01.02.1918-17.08.1918 - Established at Old Sarum airfield as a bomber squadron, but disbanded before training is completed and its personnel are added to existing squadrons
28.06.1941 - Re-established as a fighter at the Maltese base Ta kali, from where, in addition to defending the island, it protects supply routes to North Africa and later attacks targets in Italy and Sicily
23.09.1943 - moves to Sicily and later to Italy
01.04.1944 - transferred to the UK and mostly escorted bombers until the end of the war
10.03.1946 - disbanded
