history
The unit is formed on 1 (some sources say as late as 15) March 1918 at Shawbury airfield as a bombardment unit, but is disbanded on 17 August that year before completing training.
Re-established on 30 June 1941 as a fighter at Ouston as part of the air defence. In addition to normal duties such as convoy protection and offensive sorties over occupied Europe, it also practises carrier take-offs and landings HMS Argus. In February 1945 she is transferred to India, but is disbanded as early as 10 June.
On 26 (according to some sources 10) June 1945 she is re-established in India as a fighter-bomber by renumbering 134 Squadron and preparing to land in Malaya, but is disbanded on 31 December 1945 after the Armistice.
