History / History
Squadron was formed 18. October 1943 at the base of the Rockcliffe in the province of Ontario as a heavy transport unit. Mainly carried out the transportation of mail and passengers between Canada and Great Britain. Airmen units transported 1 018 437 kilograms of mail (including 9 125 000 letters), 1 253 172 kilograms of freight and 42 057 passengers during a loss of 5 machines, 18 of fallen or missing and 7 wounded airmen. Their services were used by the royal family, the governor of Canada and the canadian prime minister. It was cancelled 21. April 1946.
