history
The squadron is formed on 1 January 1943 at Hartford Bridge as a reconnaissance unit made up of Canadian personnel. In addition to reconnaissance, it also attacks ground targets or provides escort to bombers, and operates in this role until the end of the war. After the end of the war, it is stationed in Germany, where it is also disbanded on 7 August 1945. During World War II, the unit was part of the RCAF but was under the command and operational control of the RAF as No. 430 Squadron RAF.
01.11.1951 - activated at RCAF North Bay as 430 Fighter Squadron
01.06.1963 - disbanded
30.09.1963 - activated as '430 Strike/Attack Squadron', part of the 3rd Wing at Zweibrucken
01.05.1970 - disbanded
01.01.1971 - activated at CFB Valcartier as 430e Escadron Tactique d'Helicopteres (430 Tactical Helicopter Squadron)
