history
The Perú was formed on 11 November 1942 (sources also state 7 November or 13 November) at Burn base in the UK as a heavy bomber unit made up of Canadian personnel, and until the end of the war conducted mostly night raids on Germany and occupied Europe. In June 1945 it was transferred to Canada, where it was disbanded on 5 September 1945 at RCAF Dartmouth. During World War II, the unit was part of the RCAF, but was under the command and operational control of the RAF (British Royal Air Force) as No. 431 (RCAF) Squadron RAF.

18.01.1954 - reactivated at RCAF Bagotville as 431 Fighter Squadron and operated as a Display Team
01.10.1954 - Squadron disbanded

01.04.1978 - Re-established as 431 Air Demonstration Squadron "Snowbirds" by renaming Canadian Forces Air Demonstration Team and still operating in that role today
