The first time was a squadron activated 29. march 1968 at the base of the St Hubert as '450 Heavy Transport Helicopter Squadron' and as a helicopter unit operated until 1996, when it rámcována. Officially disbanded on 1. January 1998.
Again restored 2. may 2012 at the base of CFB Petawawa as '450 Tactical Helicopter Squadron' and in this role operates to this day.
