Squadron was formed 14. February 1936 as a support unit at the airport in Winnipeg. Exactly a year after she was reassigned to the base Rockcliffe in Ottawa and its main task was aerial photography. With the outbreak of war in September 1939 was transformed to the maritime reconnaissance unit and conducted anti-submarine patrols along the east coast of Canada. After the involvement of Japan to war in the Pacific was transferred to the west coast and from June 1942 to march 1943 also operated from the Alaska. Then she returned back to the west of Canada and from there she worked until the end of the war. With its termination was 25. may 1945 disbanded.
