DEFENSE
1) one of the types of combat activity of the troops; the goal of defense is to repel the attack of the enemy who is outnumbered, exhausted his strength, cause him considerable loss, to thwart his attack, keep the important areas of terrain, to gain time for the concentration of new forces and means and thus to create favorable conditions for the transition to the decisive attack;
2) a summary of the measures to nejůčelnějšímu method of spatial distribution and the use of force, use of střelecko-technical options firing devices and the natural protective properties of the terrain and its engineer adjustments, organized in order to fend off a mass attack of tanks by the enemy, to resist the fire of his artillery, cause losses to its forces and means to destroy the enemy, which got fixed in the defense of, and defend the discontinuation of the activities of enemy airborne landings.
According to the method of passion defense, we distinguish hurriedly biased defense and pre-prepared defense.
The defense can go in direct contact with the enemy or out of touch with him.
