In its desire to be a renowned world power, post-war France did really curious things, among other things, it established orders for merit, which were rewarded in the surrounding countries with a badge and an honorary diploma. Among such curious rules can be included, among other things, the order For Tourist Merit.
The Order of Tourist Merit was founded on May 27, 1949. The purpose of the order was to appreciate the merits of the development of tourism and tourism not only in France but also abroad.
The order is again divided into three degrees and was worn on a light blue ribbon with a green side stripe and a red border stripe. This order was repealed on December 3, 1963. Thus, was in force for fourteen years and seven months.
