Dear Sirs, at the Moscow exhibition Armija-2021 (Армия-2021) the company Galičsky Avtokranovyj zavod (Галичский автокрановый завод, ГАКЗ) presented a prototype of a trench machine with the factory designation PZM-2M (ПЗМ-2М, меме The management of GAKZ assumes that the proposed engineering facility will replace the fifty-three-year-old PZM-2 with the chassis of the Kharkov T-155 tractor.
The manufacturer states the following main advantages: - high transport speed along its own axis, - the additional MGD crawler chassis increases throughput and speed in low-clearance terrain, - simplified maintenance thanks to the use of serial chassis KamAZ-65224, - easy installation of additional equipment, such as bulldozer blades.
According to GAKZ specialists, the PZM-2M can be used to extinguish forest fires in hard-to-reach taiga areas. For example, by creating protective ditches up to 3.2 meters wide and with the help of excavated soil thrower, protection zones up to 20 m wide can be created. The earthworks can be controlled from the driver's cab and, if necessary, remotely using a 50 m cable.
Serial production should take place in the Kamyšin factory, which is part of the holding Kudesnik (Кудесник).
