SS-Polizei Regiment 24 was formed in July 1942 in Lvov from the unit Polizei Regiment Radom.


III/SS-Polizei Regiment 24 was stationed in Slovenia before being transferred to France to become part of SS-Polizei Regiment 14.The remnants of the regiment were used against partisans on the Eastern Front before ending up as a frontline unit in the main line at the end of the war.
