Gentlemen,
A few days ago, the server Seznam reported about some "new" anti-drone system from the Polish factory Zakłady Mechaniczne Tarnów (ZMT). However, this weapon has been in the manufacturer's offer since 2017. In the five years of its existence, it has been tested on ships, helicopters and ground stations. In 2021, it was presented in Kielce at the MSPO exhibition as a UCAV protection system. The manufacturer claims that this PVO system is capable of defending military units and civilian stationary objects such as airports, petrol stations and product pipelines at a distance of 2 km and searching for potential targets at a distance of 4 to 50 km.
The Tarnów air defence system is capable of operating in three modes:
- manual mode, where it is controlled by an operator,
- semi-automatic mode,
- automatic mode with operator control.

- length: 1300 mm
- barrel length: 900 mm
- ammunition: 12,7x99 NATO
- range: 2200 m
- rate of fire: 3600 rounds per min.


Basic data of the air defense system:
- weight of the set: 1100 kg
- Weapon module weight: 700 kg (450 rounds, 100 radar, 300 trailer, machine gun, 450 pieces)
- ZMT optoelectronic firing system
- fixed 4-head MHR radar (RADA MHR RPS-42, Israel)
