Heavy Tank T29 - an overview of options
A number of prototypes of a heavy tank whose development was started in přeznu 1944 as a counterweight to Tiger II and making use of the knowledge and components from the middle tankou M26. One machine was completed in June 1945 at the Pressed Steel Car Co., after the victory over japan was but the production of interrupted and unfinished second machine was with all the manufactured parts moved to the Detroit tank arsenal, where the production later continued. The knowledge gained from the testing tanks of a number T29 were used for the development of a heavy tank M103.
