this designation was reserved for the possible installation of the Packard V-1610-5 engine, it probably did not materialize
Bell P-63C
1944, 1,227 aircraft were produced, compared to the P-63A version, a more powerful engine was used and more powerful armor was used, (Serial No. 42-70686/42-70860; 43-10893/43-10932; 43-11133/43- 11717 and 44-4001/44-4427, deliveries to the USSR and France.
Bell P-63D
early 1945, made one prototype as a high-altitude and support fighter, rear-movable cabin and increased range, (Serial No.43-11718)
Bell P-63E
production April 1945, 13 aircraft produced; it was basically a P-63D with a cabin with a door on the side. The order for 1 030 has been canceled. (Serial No.43-11720, 43-11721 and 43-11725/43-11735)

There were two more two-seater modifications of already manufactured aircraft. In the production plant were two machines with the designation P-63E-1 and civilian brands NX 41963 and NX 41964. Others were modified in the USSR. The designation was UTI P-63.
