Blackburn Shark
A deck torpedo and reconnaissance biplane.
Prototype flew 24.8.1933. In Fleet Air Arm armament since 1935. At the outbreak of WW2, 165 were in service with the FAA, already serving as second-line trainers and liaison, the last being scrapped in early 1945.

Shark Mk.I - 16 pcs (Armstrong Siddeley Tiger IV engine (522 kw/700 pcs), same as prototype)
Shark Mk.II - 126 pcs (Tiger VI engine (567 kw/760 pcs) )
Shark Mk.III - 95 pcs
Shark Mk.IIA - Portuguese Navy version (Tiger VIC engine (522 kw/700 pcs) )
22 pcs of the Mk.II, Mk.III version (standardized to the Mk.III version) were modified in 1937-38 for towing target practice.
Total in FAA armament: 238 pcs.
In addition to the FAA, the type was in the armament of the RCAF, which received 7 Mk.II version machines in 1936, 2 Mk.III versions (with Bristol Pegasus III engines, 800 pcs), followed by production of 17 pcs by Boeing Aircraft of Canada (with Pegasus IX engines, 840 pcs). Canadian Sharks were in operational use until 1944.
