After the conversion of the flame-thrower tank platforms Pz.Kpfw. II (Flamm) Ausf. B to tank fighters 7,62 cm PaK 36(r) Fgst auf Pz.Kpfw.II "Marder II", some of the produced but no longer useful turrets were used to build permanent firing positions. The turrets were not modified in any way. The armament consisted of a single MG 34 machine gun of 7.92 mm calibre with a K.Z.F.2 sight. The ammunition supply consisted of 45,000 - 60,000 rounds. The turret armour consisted of 30 mm thick front, side and rear armour, the ceiling was 8 mm thick. The turret was mounted on an armoured octagonal platform. The height of the tower itself was 420 mm, the concrete base was 205 mm high.
A total of 25 turrets were refurbished from damaged machines at Schichau in Elbing. In the tower status report of 26 March 1945, there were 4 towers in Denmark and 20 towers on the eastern front.
A reinforced concrete bunker designated Bauform 232a was designed for this tower.
