30/5000ZiS-5 - hard worker in combat and in civilian life

The inconspicuous ZiS-5 truck did a great deal of work building the Soviet economy. After solving the first technical problems, it became the basis for a number of superstructures, including military ones, and was the first Soviet truck to be exported abroad. Equally indisputable are his merits in securing combat operations of the Soviet army during World War II.

ZiS-5 - American foundations of Soviet legend

Only tanks and armored vehicles are often considered when assessing WWII technology. Trucks remain a bit of an interest, but they have done most of the ungrateful work without which combat operations would have stopped. In truth, the two most numerous armies, the Wehrmacht and the Red Army, were not really that well equipped.
