BMP-2M with additional armour sb3KDZ In 2005, Algeria and the RF signed a contract to supply an upgraded version of the BMP-2M. The modifications made resulted in an armoured vehicle that attracted the attention of the RF Army enough to take it into service in 2020-2021.
A major modification to increase the BMP-2M's survivability is the introduction of two variants of additional armour: - the blocks of the additional armour are filled with a durable polymer material to protect against penetrating rounds from large-calibre machine guns - the additional polymer-filled armour has improved the vehicle's seakeeping capabilities - a lattice structure to protect against cumulative armour-piercing rounds - the additional armour is designated as: 675-sb3KDZ (first three digits taken from the name: object 675) - powerful hydraulic shock absorbers were added to eliminate the higher weight - reinforced running wheels - tracks with durable rubber-metal hinges

BMP-2M with additional armour was presented at the Armija 2020 exhibition. Rosoboronoeksport offers this vehicle in two versions, which differ from the Russian version: - sb4-2 for infantry combat (grenade launcher, machine gun and small-calibre gun). - the sb4-3 for armoured vehicle combat (2x Konkurs-M ATGM launchers)
