In the night from 18.10. 19.10.1940 the convoy was decimated by the attack "wolf pack" of German submarines (U-46, U-99, U-100, U-101 and U-123), which during the 6 hours sunk 16 ships of the convoy with a total tonnage of 79592 BRT, including the flagship of commodore of the convoy. Total losses have reached 20 vessels from 36 ships. Killed 141 of the allied sailors.
