Gentlemen, Polskie Zakłady Lotnicze (PZL) and the North American firm Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) have entered the MC-145B Coyote (Wily Coyote) into the Armed Overwatch competition. Both companies are part of the multinational Lockheed Martin. The Armed Overwatch program announced by USSOCOM (United States Special Operations Command) is to find a replacement for the U-28A Draco (Pilatus PC-12). The MC-145B paratrooper-combat aircraft is based on the Polish PZL M28 Skytruck transport aircraft - actually a Polonized version of the Ukrainian Antonov An-28. The following companies arrived at Eglin airbase with their aircraft for the finals of the Armed Overwatch program: Air Tractor/L3Harris with the AT-802U Sky Warden, Beechcraft with the AT-6E Wolverine, Leidos/Paramount USA/Vertex Aerospace with the Bronco II, MAG Aerospace with the MC-208 Guardian and Sierra Nevada Corp./PZL with the MC-145B. The winner of the competition will be awarded a contract to produce 75 aircraft.
