PRP-3

This artillery reconnaissance vehicle is used to locate enemy artillery/mortars and to cover and repair the effects of its own artillery. The hull of the vehicle is identical to the BMP-1 but the machine has a new twin gun turret, which has two individual forward-facing ports. Both apertures have periscopes for observation plus a large optical device in front of the aperture. Armament consists of a 7.62 mm round which replaced the 73 mm gun. On the right side of the firing turret is a covered compartment for the optical equipment. On the top of the turret there is an overhead radar with a flat antenna. The PRP-3 has an identification range of 20 km and a search range of 7 km and is equipped with extensive communications equipment and optical devices.
An antenna system is built into the rear of the tower. The vehicle is crewed by 5 člinemen.
