Modification and composition of PLRK S-75 Volchov

The following lines I am writing entirely from memory, if I think of further clarification, I will add it.

Anti-aircraft missile complexes (PLRK) S-75 Volkhov, which were used on the territory of the CZECHOSLOVAK socialist republic (Czech and Slovak federative republic, CZECH republic) were in the following modifications:
S-75V, S-75M, S-75M* and S-75M3.
On the territory of the CZECH republic was included in the assembly 71.plrb 8 PLRK (defense of Prague and central Bohemia) in the case 1. to 8.plro and 185.plrp 5 PLRK (defense of the state border with GERMANY).
S-75V – the basic version of PLRK S-75 Volkhov
S-75M – compared with the s-75V improved ways of tracking of the objective, a little bit of a different setting of the system the calculation of the commands for the rockets
S-75M* - complemented by the visual channel (used a TV camera, which enabled the retrieval, monitoring and postřelování goals in the optical regime using the method of "three points" without radiating electromagnetic energy
S-75M3 – improved ways of monitoring objectives, in aparaturách more used semiconductors, new power 2x100 kW

PLRK S-75 Volkhov all the modifications consisted of:
Radiotechnické battery, which was formed by the terminus of the trans-SNR-75 in the assembly of cabins:
UV (control cabin) includes
- the system of the officer's guide (finding your target, the transmission of the objective to capture, the choice of methods, redesigning, firing rockets etc)
- systems operators azimuth (β - beta), the positioning of the angle (ε - epsilon) and the distance (D)
- training system rockets
- the workplace of the commander of the (profitable indicator circular looms from the RLD P-12, somewhere P-18)
- the imitative apparatus for training
AV (instrument enclosure) included
- system (koordinaty – calculation of the coordinates of the target and the rockets + mezifrekvenční and the low frequency part of the receiver)
- system SVK (sistěma vyrabotky squads – the calculation of the commands for the missile)
- the system of RPK (radioperedatčik kommand – transmitter commands on board the rocket)
- system SDC (selekcija dvižajuščich the whole – selection of moving targets = protection from passive interference)
PV (broadcast cabin) includes
- the antenna of a wide beam for azimuth and the orientation angle (leafy characteristics of emission, the thickness of the sheet of 1.1° , a width of 7°)
- antenna narrow beam for azimuth and the orientation angle (tužková characteristics of emission, an average of 1.7°)
- the antenna of the transmitter commands
- in modification of the M* and M3 TV camera
- the transmitter for the azimuth and the orientation angle (the output level is executed magnetronem, the length of the waves of approximately 6 cm, pulse performance in each plane of the 1 MW)
- the high-frequency part of the receiver for the azimuth and the orientation angle (at the entry of used tubes with the progressive wave)
RV / RKU (grid cabin) includes
- managing the counters for the distribution of electric energy to power all of the cabins and launcher 50 Hz and 400 Hz
- voltage converter 50 Hz to 400 Hz (400 Hz distribution systems were used for anodová voltage because of the reduced ripple after rectification)
- managing the counters for the operation of the power generators
- generator of 30 kW (only on the power PLRK in the off state for lighting, fans etc)
EDS (eletrocentrály)
- 3 power of 100 kW (u S-75V, M and M*)
- 2 power 2x100 kW (u S-75M3)
Furthermore, there was
- radar range finder, P-12 or P-18
- coupler cabin 5F20 to connect to the automatic system of command for the ASV Seněž, 5Ch56 for Asurk-1ME and or 5F24 for Vector
- the cab and the antenna of the system of recognition of the own – foreign (ZEF)
- station radioreléového conjunction with the supervisor for the communication and transmission of data from the ASV 5Ja62 (two directions) or 5Ja63 (in three directions) for ASV Seněž and Vector or R-404 for Asurk
The fire of the battery:
- Launchers SM90 – 6pcs
- Anti-aircraft missile (plřs) 20DP, 20DSU or 5Ja23 – the numbers and types according to the dislocation of the plro, as a rule, not less than 12 and not more than 18
- To launch the devices to be maintained 5 plřs, the sixth was dedicated to the training of
- Přepravník plřs PR-11B – numbers once again by the dislocation of the plro, as a rule, not less than 8 and not more than 12.

There are three very obvious minutiae that distinguish the rockets for Dvinu (11..) and Volkhov (20.., 5Ja23).
1. Pitot tube: u Dviny is vysouvala, therefore, should be on the cutting edge of the stronger short "nose", u Volchovu to download the cover, therefore, on the cutting edge of the thinner and longer tube.
2. The antenna of the receiver radiozapalovače: have been placed in front of the wings 2.grades for both types. for Dviny but they were recessed into the hull of the rocket, whereas the Volchovu protrude in the housings above the surface.
3. Stabilizers 1.grades: u Dviny were on the top and bottom of the stabilizer aerodynamic correction of the surface (when viewed from the rear), for Volchova nothing, only the smooth surface.
The differences is, of course, much more, these are but the most striking ones, which will help for the immediate assignment of the rocket to the complex. Therefore, it would be possible to fix some of the above minor inaccuracies..

In the year 2000 have made rusove still one modification - S75M4 Volga-2A. The difference from the previous bus version was that, of the 2 anteny uzkeho beam sloucili in one and have given it a place anteny RPK and then moved to the other side (see photo of the http://www.raspletin.ru/production/old/s75.php).
Modernization according to the program of the Volga-2A predpokladala vymenu several analogovych system for cislicovou apparatus. It would extensively vylepsilo technical parameters of a system.
Unfortunately, more information about this modification I already nenasel. Probably from the other modernisation dropped, because in a's time have PLRK S-75 tri fundamental shortcomings:
1) due to the cili is jednokanalovy.
2) is mobile, but casy on svinuti/rozvinuti are relatively long (from own practice of vim, of we it the fastest catch in about 1 hr 20 min / 1 hr 30 min, but it was zabiracka and after rozvinuti is nesmela occur none fundamental node.
3) problem with udrzbou rockets - 2.[mel kapalinovy raketovy the engine and the system skladovani etc ma far into the is no modernich solutions with ulozenim rockets in hermetizovanych containers, when not may not be sahnout 10 or even vice years.
In the present is the S-75 fully replaced by PLRK S-300 to all of the modification..

Differences between rockets for Volkhov and Dvina (first three images).

Difference between V-755 (20D series) and V-759 (5Ja23) missiles
- The 20D has 4 receiving antennas of the radio-actuator placed in the wing axes (one pair for 78° angle, the other for 87°)
- The 5Ja23 has only one pair of antennas, located in the horizontal axis of the missile just behind the destabilising surfaces.

Diskuse

I would like to answer the three questions that I received regarding the SA – twos.

Question the first: How it looks OR the inside?
Inside the shells OR are primarily actuators, i.e. motors, amplidynes, different blocks, etc. Ramp SM-90 I never from the inside shot, and at Dvin, I didn't do. One ramp SM-63 while she stayed with us in the barracks, but that has all the internal equipment removed.

Question the second: What is the difference between SM-90 complex of the Volkhov and SM-63 complex Dvina?
I repeat – with Dvinou I've never worked, so only two photos. The differences is to see enough, but the exact dimensions or weight of SM-63 don't know. Note also the differences between the rockets 11D and 20D.

Question the third: Is it possible to build a diorama, where the Dvina and near the team of the Green berets, which picks up the helicopter?
According to me no. Battle stations looks as follows. In the middle is a guidance locator and cabin and in a circle around the are up OR. Distance OR from the NRL is normally 100 m, but in Vietnam, these were the distance shortened to only 35 m.
Anti-aircraft rocket complexis were the most secretive and most guarded of the north vietnamese resources. Their defense was therefore paid great attention.
Around the anti-aircraft rocket complexis was set up circular defence against ground assault, but the main defense was from air danger. Each section had to defend themselves singled out three batteries malorážního PL artillery (caliber 37 and 57 mm) and three to four platoons PL machine guns (ZPU-2 or ZPU-4 caliber 14.5 mm). These PL funds were deployed in an irregular circle around the section, while the cannons were placed in education. 1,5 – 2 km and machine guns 200 – 700 m.
I believe that even stupid Americans Smile would not pick up from the middle of the enemy's defense perimeter.

There is information about the S-75M4 version in connection with the Volga 2A and the year of introduction 2000. This connection does not seem likely to me. I fired a version of the S-75M4 in Kazakhstan in 1987 as a recruiting officer. It was an upgraded version of the M3 and the complex had definitely had some firing. From what I observed, the M4 version was more thermally stable compared to the M3, it had more powerful air conditioning, but otherwise in terms of the main blocks and components used it was very similar to the M3 versions that were delivered to the USSR, the blocks had the same control and setup procedures, only some of the circuitry was different, new interference protections were added, and from what I remember the target channel receiver was different, but it was set up the same as the M3 version ( I-55 if I remember correctly). The guidance system easily allowed the use of our D20DSU and 5Ja23 missiles. The documentation for the complex clearly stated that it was the M4 version. But it was definitely not the version pictured. Therefore, I think the information S-75M4=Volga 2A is incorrect.

Otherwise, hello to former colleagues who no doubt contribute here. I like to reminisce about our days in the PVOS cash system.

It is possible that the documentation in the Ašuluku was marked, it was not but PLRK S-75M4 Volga-2A.
The information is contained on the line, which is in my post indicated (this is a link to the NPO Almaz, which With-75ky developed and also produced).

Although it is a certain contradiction (mainly time) between the information on the S-75 on the website Almazu and www.pvo.guns.ru, but they have one thing in common - u S-75M4 was used in the new design of the antennas of the narrow beam.

I have been on the rifle a total of 14x (last in 1989) and on the S-75M4 the speech was not.

Personally, I gravitated to as a correct indication of the type of S-75M4 rather by the manufacturer (i.e. Almaz).
Get the name of the line on the page Almazu linked with the name of the academician And.And.Raspletina, who was the chief designer of PLRK S-25 Berkut and also the S-75 ...

By the way, of which the Volga you were shooting?

Franta.

To photos from karaca let me clarify:
- in the picture 100_7185.jpg is rocket 11D or 13D (see few details, that's why I can't accurately determine) on the freighter PR-11A with the truck ZiL-157, include anti-aircraft rocket complexis SA-75M Dvina by the way, when was this spring in Israel the Day of air defence, so there hasn't been and this place was empty.

- in the picture 100_7182.jpg it is left to the missile 5V28 on OR 5P72 from anti-aircraft rocket complexis S-200VE Vega, the right is the rocket 5Ja23 to the OR SM-63-II *)
- in the picture Frame 104.jpg is rocket 1D to the OR SM-63-I

*) originally, this sentence continued "...and it belongs to the anti-aircraft rocket complexis S-75M* or higher".
Due to the fact that today I know why is this combination in Israel realized, here is the explanation: in the republic of simply OR SM-90 didn't get, so they used that OR they have managed to get hold of..

Citace - Franta02 :

To photos from karaca let me clarify:
- in the picture 100_7185.jpg is rocket 11D or 13D (see few details, that's why I can't accurately determine) on the freighter PR-11A with the truck ZiL-157, include anti-aircraft rocket complexis SA-75M Dvina by the way, when was this spring in Israel the Day of air defence, so there hasn't been and this place was empty.

- in the picture 100_7182.jpg it is left to the missile 5V28 on OR 5P72 from anti-aircraft rocket complexis S-200VE Vega, the right is the rocket 5Ja23 to the OR SM-90 and belongs to the anti-aircraft rocket complexis S-75M* or higher
- in the picture Frame 104.jpg is rocket 1D to the OR SM-63 from the first version of the anti-aircraft rocket complexis SA-75 Dvina

Rocket 5Ja23 is not on the launch pad the SM-90, but SM-63 system SA-75 Dvina. It's basically a nonsensical combination of - volchovácká rocket on dviňáckém the launcher device. I didn't notice before, but Adminovy photos of it appeared in full nudity..

The combination of the rockets 5Ja23 with the launch ramp SM-63-II is really crap.

Not as it is but with the general denominations, which said Councils:

basically goes on a nonsensical combination - volchovácká rocket on dviňáckém the launcher device.

In the implementation of PLRK S-75D Děsna (they were only in service with the army of the USSR), it was possible to use the rocket 11D, 13D, 13DA, 15D, 20D and 20DP, therefore, the rockets dviňácké i volchovské!.

True, I thought (but didn't write) I'm in the ENSAMBLE, indeed, I use ramps SM-63 and rockets series 20D u S-75 Děsna himself wrote.

Um, poor people couldn't get the ramp SM-90, the damage that I've personally drove six on the cancellation..

Gentlemen raketovščici, I have a favor to ask of you.Do you happen to have a photo or (in the best case!) perovkový side view of the interior fittings, both polobloků palpostu?I'm building the Volkhov (loadout NUMBER) on the launch pad as a model and I want to do with open covers of the ramp (where you will see the engine ramps and other paraphernalia) but I can't seem to get a more comprehensive walkaround - virtually always only with palpost. Thanks in advance for any assistance .

man I don't, for me us so to frighten the loss of a security clearance, that I technique took more exceptionally, and pictures of the inside of the shells of the upper simple gears I have. But on the other hand, if I was a rocket on the pad, covers too neotevíraly..

and so it occurs to me, what kind of volk do you build ?? As far as I know, there is only one OR SM-90 kit and it is a resin from the planet model, it is solid, cast. the trumpet makes a double, I didn't even do that

I am putting together a thirty-fifth from Trumpet - see photos from the construction here (it is in What-If, but it is more of a class affiliation, it will be a normal construction from the ČSLA service):

But according to what I have, it should be Volkhov, not Dvina.

Probably bad data: D Trumpeter makes launchers SM-63 Dvina systems, after all, even in those photos you can see the balancing surfaces on the accelerator stabilizers, so it is a rocket 11D or 13D system Dvina or. Děsna, Volchovácká raketa does not have the flats and the launcher SM-90 resembles SM-63 about as a mule "emil" "fridrich"

here forum.valka.cz jsou dva pohledy na SM-63 with 11D missile (Dvina) and SM-90 with 20D missile from approximately the same angle, the differences can be seen quite a bit

Well, I said that I'm not an expert on this: oops:. I don't want that much at this stage) except for the use of tinplate on the open side blocks of the palpost. Thanks for any advice in advance.
