SS-Police Regiment 1

SS-Polizei Regiment 1 was formed in Berlin in July 1942.

I/SS-Polizei Regiment 1 was sent to the Eastern Front and was assigned to Heeresgruppe Nord. II/SS-Polizei Regiment 1 was divided into separate companies and used by the SD on the Eastern Front. III/SS-Polizei Regiment 1 was sent to the Lower Krajina (Slovenia) to fight the partisans.

I and III/SS-Polizei Regiment 1 were sent to France in March 1943 where they formed SS-Polizei Regiment 14. II/SS-Polizei Regiment 1 was transferred to Maerish-Ostrau and used to form part of Polizei Schützen Regiment 31.

The new SS-Polizei Regiment 1 was formed in Hungary in August 1944 from parts from various other police regiments, but soon lost two battalions. it was disbanded on 12 March 1945.

1/1945	I. The battalion, which did not stand in besieged Budapest, was reinforced by Polizei Halb-Battailon Ungarn (composed of Hungarians in Croatia) and sent to Oderska. front
7. 2. 1945	created II. and III. battalion and connected to 608. Division z.b.V.
12. 3. 1945	Regiment disbanded
