SS-Polizei Regiment 6 was formed in July 1942. Was used to protipartyzánským operations on the eastern front and two of its battalions were destroyed in January 1943. the survivors of the battalion was incorporated into the 213. Sicherungs-Division in April 1943, a new SS-Polizei Regiment 6 was created in October 1944 on the territory of Hungary.

Struggled together with the Panzergrenadier-Division Brandenburg on the Chorvarsko-Hungarian border in November 1944 before he was encircled in Budapest. The surviving part of the capitulating of the Red army in February 1945.
