Note: Note: | Smokewinder was developed for eddy current research and is also used for flight tests, demonstration flights, training flights and other instances where a flight path or airflow needs to be highlighted. It is designed to be equivalent in undercarriage to the AIM-9 Sidewinder. Smoke is developed by feeding high-octane gasoline and rush air into the combustion chamber. The mixture is ignited by condenser ignition. Behind the combustion chamber at the end of the design is a mixing chamber where oil is injected into the hot combustion gases, thus evaporating and creating an oil mist (smoke. It carries four rear stabilisers as standard, but a front quad can be fitted to bring the design closer to its predecessor. The designations 9000-5, -6, -7, -8 refer to the versions according to the method of suspension (location of the hinges on the developer, filling holes and access doors). 5 = left wing end 6 = right wing end 7 = left wing underhang 8 = right underwing underhang | - | ||
