Suchoj Su-3

History:
In 1941, the kharkov aviation plant had to move to the city of Novosibirsk, the prototype Su-1 was destroyed in Kharkov and so was the second, modified prototype built under the designation I-360 or the Su-3. The main designer was P. D. Grušin, originally had this machine propel powerful engine M-106, but because this engine was still available, had to be used the power unit from the older Su-1 – engine the Klimov M-105P the turbocharged a pair of turbo-compressors TK-2. One major difference between the two aircraft, however, was in the wings – the Su-3 had a reduced wingspan and was about 2 m2 reduced supporting area. Other changes were in the coolers of water and oil and in their kapotování. Sukhoi Su-3 was not a very successful machine, the turbocompressors were not reliable and if he flew with disconnected turbocompressors, then was the performance of the aeroplane rather below average. After a couple of carried out test years terminated.
