The Sungri 58 is a Korean copy (licensed) of the Soviet GAZ-51. Production at the Tokchon Automobile Plant ran from 1958 to 1979 (from 1975 the plant had a new name, Sungri Automobile Plant), and in addition to the basic 2.5-ton version, it was also produced with a passenger-carrying body (minibus), a fire truck, and a tractor. In the 1970s, modified versions based on it were produced with a new cab Sungri 58KA, also with 4x4 drive (Sungri 58NA).
