Brief history of Stridsbåt 2010, aka Stridsbåt NY, aka Combat Boat 2010
In 2005, work began on the fast gunboat project, known by the above designations. The vessel was to be equipped with universal automatically loaded mortars made by the Finnish company Patria.
A tender for the delivery of the prototype was to be issued in 2007.
By the end of 2008, the 1st demonstrator of the Strb90H-based gunboat was to be produced. Tests showed that such a powerful weapon had to be placed on a larger vessel. The 2nd demonstrator was a rebuild of the prototype Transportbåt 2000.
The Patria Hägglunds consortium adapted the AMOS twin-barrelled turret for service on naval vessels.
Work on the project was stopped in 2009 after the army decided not to buy the AMOS mortar system.
The following companies were involved in the development work:
Dockstavarvet, SAAB concern, Docksta, Sweden (1st demonstrator),
Swede Ship Marine, Djupvik and Fagerfjäll, Sweden (2nd demonstrator),
Patria Hägglunds, consortium, Tampere, Finland (mortar turret)
and an unspecified design office that designed the look of the CB 2010 M.
