T-26 with 76 mm recoilless cannon
At the end of 1933, Tukhachevsky made a request for a T-26 tank with increased firepower. In the first months of 1934, a prototype of a two-tower tank was made on the basis of T-26-1931 with a real turret equipped with a recoil-free cannon caliber 76 mm construction by Ing. Kurčevský. A DT machine gun was mounted in the left turret. All TTD excluding weight (slightly increased) remained the same as in the 1931 model.
Although the firepower of the tank increased, but after tests on March 9, 1934, the prototype was not recognized as suitable for acceptance into service, mainly due to the shortcomings of the cannon.
