The Panzer-Verband Stegemann was formed on 28 January 1945 as a staff for replacement and training motorized units stationed in Military District VIII and deployed during defensive operations in the area around the town of Zhořelec.
By the end of January, he was assigned to Korpsgruppe Jeckeln under the command of SS-Obergruppenführer Friedrich Jeckeln, and in February he supported the Kampfgruppe Neisse 269th Infantry Division.
The last mention of combat activity of the bunch dates back to the first days of March 1945.
