CZK - 4,7 cm kanón Škoda A9 / Škoda A9J

Tankový kanón
4.7 cm Skoda A9 cannon

A 47 mm calibre tank gun with a 43.4 calibre long barrel. It had a semi-automatic vertical wedge breech. The barrel of this gun was monoblock. The brake mechanism was located above the barrel and inside the turret.
This gun was designed as a tank gun. The short breech suited placement in a tank turret. The ballistic performance of the gun was satisfactory to the army and the manufacturer. However, there were various glitches in the function of the semi-automatic. This subsequently led to the development of the A11 type.
A slightly modified A9J cannon was installed in the prototype of the Š-I-j assault self-propelled gun, which was developed for Yugoslavia and subsequently sold to the Waffen SS.

It achieved a theoretical rate of fire of 20 rounds per minute, while allowing 10 aimed rounds/min. A fragmentation grenade and an anti-tank grenade were used for firing.
